HO’OPONOPONO & ESPAVO
Clearing Memory • Reclaiming Power
The Essence
Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and inner cleansing. It teaches that everything we experience arises from memories within us — and that healing happens through self-responsibility.
Espavo complements Ho’oponopono by restoring sovereignty. Espavo means: “Thank you for taking your power.” Together, these practices create a complete cycle:
- Ho’oponopono clears memory
- Espavo returns power
The Four Ho’oponopono Phrases
These phrases are spoken inwardly, gently, without force:
- I’m sorry
I acknowledge the memory within me. - Please forgive me
I release judgment of myself and others. - Thank you
For the cleansing and the learning. - I love you
To myself, to you, to the Divine.
Adding Espavo
Thank you for taking my power.
This affirms:
- I no longer give my power to memories, people, or circumstances
- I trust my inner wisdom
- I honour the power in myself and in others
